Centrifugal Pumps

Centrifugal pumps are nonsubmersible pumps in that they are used out of the water.  Centrifugal pumps offer easy access and can provide a lot more pressure than what submersible pumps can offer.  Our centrifugal pumps come in a variety of sizes and voltage.  Their performance chart is included in their product description.  Some centrifugal pumps offer high pressure at a low head while others may offer low pressure at a high head.  The most important thing you can do is read their performance chart to see if that particular centrifugal pump will perform at the given pressure and head you need.  This is the same for all pumps as they are all made differently.  Some are more energy-efficient than others.  Years ago horsepower made a difference, now with manufacturers making them more energy efficent, horsepower doesn't mean very much so please, don't go by horsepower.  Go by the performance chart with each centrifugal pump's product description.

The GPH is gallons per hour but when you get into large centrifugal pump manufacturers go by GPM - or gallons per minute.  There's a big difference between the two!  Typically, the product title describes the pump in GPM at a 0', 1' or 5' head or 'lift'.  There's a HUGE variation on how pumps perform so although it's redundant, it's worth repeating - definitely look at the performance chart, not necessarily the product title.  Hope this helps!  If at any time you need any assistance, please contact us.  We can find the right pump for your application.
